Nov 202013

The Pleasure Chest has graciously donated goodie bags for the first 15 people who join/renew their membership for 2014, beginning at the November workshop on Friday, Nov 15th, 2013. If you renew/join now, your membership fee covers the rest of 2013 as well!

There will also be a raffle which will include anyone who joins/renews by December 31st. The Pleasure Chest has donated a stainless steel Njoy pure wand for the raffle winner. Check it out: http://www.thepleasurechest.com/njoy-pure-wand-6446-prd1.htm

Remember: by joining LSM, you’re not just getting all of the wonderful membership benefits – including reduced admission to our workshops and discounts with reciprocal groups and at numerous businesses around the city – but you’re also supporting NYC’s oldest women and trans BDSM group. With a larger membership base, we can afford to offer more benefits!

Laura AntoniouKim Attica and Laura Antoniou – ten years in a DS relationship as of 2013 – will discuss tried and true methods of keeping all participants in an SM relationship feeling nourished and cherished, how to handle slight upsets and occasional crises with humor and caring; and how to keep an eye on what makes the relationship special and worthy. While some of the content here may be thought of as “little things mean a lot,” the presenters will show how so many of the so-called “little things” are as vital to the happy functioning of a relationship as oil changes are to maintaining your car. Bring your experiences with what makes your relationship tick, or what made it break down, and we’ll share insights into the good, the bad and the sadly mistaken.

Where: LGBT Center, 208 West 13th St. (7th/8th Ave) Our annual workshop at which all genders are welcome
When: Friday, November  15, 2013; 8:00-10:00PM
Cost: $5/LSM members, $10/Non members

ABOUT LAURA ANTONIOU

Laura Antoniou is the author of the well known Marketplace series of erotic novels. As a presenter, panelist, and keynote speaker, Laura has appeared at dozens of conferences over more than twenty years, both entertaining and delivering an occasional verbal indictment. She has also appeared at colleges and universities, including NYU, Rutgers, Columbia and the University of Washington. Laura lives in Queens, NY with her wife Karen, and happily serves as boy to Kim Attica. Friends have called her all sorts of names. Current favorites being “Renaissance Perv” by Midori, “Good Boy!” by Kim and of course, “best thing that ever happened to me” by Karen.

Recent publications include “The Killer Wore Leather,” a murder mystery set at a Manhattan convention devoted to BDSM,  “The Reunion”, the 5th novel in the acclaimed Marketplace series and “Scenes from The Marketplace,” a collection of all of her Marketplace-themed short stories.

LSM is a member run organization that thrives on new ideas and energy.

One way you can contribute your ideas and energy to LSM is by becoming a board member. Any full-member who is or was a member during our 32-year history can run for the board. In order for LSM to stay strong we need a full board of 10+ people. Without a full board the people on the board become overworked and burn out quickly.

Please nominate yourself or someone you know who cares about LSM today. If you’re a current, dues-paid member, you’re set. If your membership lapsed renew now. If you haven’t gone to an orientation yet and want to be on the board let us know.

Not able to commit to being on the board? You can still get involved. Join one of our committees (i.e. membership, outreach, party, and programing).

The most important thing you can do is keep LSM going.

Keep LSM strong. Lend us your strength.
